How Aurascape Started

When Alex finished gushing to me
about how gorgeous the packaging was for the Aurascape Collection, he took a
breath to share how the idea of creating a line inspired by aura reading came
to be in the first place. “The 35-pan palette is a gradient of pastel colors,
and so the word Aurascape is a blend of ‘aura’ and ‘dreamscape,’ because there
are infinite color combinations you can create. This never-ending exploration
of who you are is very Morphe. Everyone is unique.”

“The shade names are either a pretty literal representation of what the colors
mean or exploring into new age language that speaks to that self-discovery,”
Alex said. “For example Grounded, Creativity, Intuition, are all about your
aura and what it evokes. Shade names like Dreamwalker, Pastel Projection, and
High Vibration are about alternate states of artistry.”  

When asked what shade or aura
Morphe would be, Alex didn’t hesitate. “High Vibration, for sure,” he said.
“It’s that purple shimmer that is all about a strong personality and point of
view, which is very Morphe. Also Dreamwalker, which is a also a shimmer blend
of pink, red, orange, and silver. The Morphe aura is very extra, and always
exploring.”

The Story Behind Huephoric Rush 

What was once a product most beauty lovers had one or two of, blush is having a real moment as more than just a simple accessory to other color products. “Blush used to be more seasonal, you might have the same few shades for years,” Gabby says. “But now blush has blown up in a way where it’s more akin to lip products. People buy tons of shades and textures and finishes. They layer them, they load them up...it’s more experimental than ever before.” 

Morphe has launched blushes in the past, but they were always a part of limited-edition collections. What was the impetus or reason behind creating Lightform?

The beauty industry is shifting so rapidly and it’s important that we stay on trend and even ahead in order to be competitive and relevant.  The hydrating foundation that is Lightform is just that – on trend and in demand by beauty enthusiasts everywhere. Healthy looking skin is always in and now we have a beautiful, high-performance formula that gives a healthy-looking, natural radiant finish.

What was the product development
process for Lightform like?

The whole Morphe team works to align on a product’s features and benefits, packaging direction, and cost target.  From there, we work on product formulation and perfect and test until approval. Packaging design and any packaging tooling happens simultaneously as well.  Quality and further safety testing continues to ensure the product is ready for commercialization.  The final stages include production and shipping of the finished goods to our warehouses and then our wholesale partners.  There are many steps included with the development process, but this is a quick snapshot of what goes into making a product. 

What are some Morphe products that will work really well with Lightform?

Depending on your skin type, you may want to set your foundation with our Bake & Set Setting Powder in areas where you tend to be shiny or oilier. I do this in my T-Zone, especially in warmer months – I’ve been wearing this foundation for a while. The first step to blush selection is identifying your skin tone. Look at your bare face in natural light. Are you fair, light, medium, deep, or rich? Do you have cool, warm, or neutral undertones? You can even use our Foundation Shade Finder to help you determine what skin tone you have. 

Fair Skin: 

Fair skin benefits from soft, subtle blush shades that won't overwhelm your delicate features. Choose for cool-toned pinks like baby pink, rose, or mauve to enhance your natural rosy glow.
